Silver Gelatin Print

Ca. 1880 –present. A.k.a. gelatin silver print. Generic term for several types of photographic reproduction processes. Since about 1900, most black & white photographs have been silver gelatin prints. In recent years most photographers have abandoned this photographic process in favor of photomechanical inkjet printing. (Nadeau, Encyclopedia, p. xxx).
